The Bottomless Cat Passage gives your cat a clear, open doorway through any interior door. The opening runs all the way to the floor, so there's nothing to step over and no flap to push. It's ideal for litter box rooms, laundry rooms and basements, and especially kind to kittens, senior cats, nervous cats and cats with stiff joints. The slim frame gives your door a clean, built-in look on both sides.

• Fits interior doors at least 35 mm (1 3/8") thick, which includes most standard interior doors
• Works with hollow-core and solid doors. The frame covers the cardboard honeycomb inside hollow doors.
• Interior doors only, not exterior doors.

📐 WHICH SIZE DO I NEED?

• Medium (150 × 150 mm opening): fits most adult cats.
• Large (200 × 200 mm opening): for big breeds like Maine Coons, heavier cats, or homes where cats tend to rush through together.
• Not sure? Measure your cat's widest point (usually the shoulders or belly) and choose the size with at least 2–3 cm to spare.

📦 WHAT'S IN THE KIT

• 2 × interlocking frames (one for each side of the door)
• 1 × 3D printed cutting stencil, plus a screw to hold it to the door
• Illustrated install card

🛠️ HOW TO INSTALL

1. Check that your door is at least 35 mm (1 3/8") thick.
2. Line the stencil up with the bottom edge of the door, at the corner or centre. Screw it in place and trace around it.
3. Cut along the line with a jigsaw.
4. Slide one frame in from each side so they meet inside the door, then superglue them together.

❓ FAQ

Will my cat use it? Almost always straight away. With no flap to push, most cats walk through on day one.

Does it work on hollow-core doors? Yes. Hollow doors have cardboard honeycomb inside, which is normal, and the frame covers it neatly.

Will smells get through? It's an open passage, so it won't block smells the way a flap can. If you want a flap, see our Bottomless Interior Cat Door Kit.

Do I need special tools? Just a pencil, a screwdriver, a jigsaw and superglue.

Can I get a custom colour? Yes. Use the custom colour request box and we'll print it for you.

🧽 CARE
Wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Keep it away from high heat, because PLA can soften above about 55°C.

Each piece is 3D printed layer by layer, so you may see fine layer lines. That's part of the handmade character.
